Just wanted to let you know that we pulled our first mail list out of UCAP, and after a few teething problems, Alice declared "THIS IS FABULOUS - SO EASY!!". I can't wait to have all my UCAP users this happy!!!!!

UCAP is still unique. Whereas ACT and other small contact systems top out at about 8000 records (said an Act consultant-friend), I found UCAP really started to "sing" at around 10,000 personal records - improving and gathering continually more "intelligence" with every new record (data) entered. I don't know what the top end data limit is. The UCAP Data Warehouse is an essential tool.

My UCAP server has been running continuously without requiring a reboot for over five years now with not one record of data lost!

I'm in an Italian management company operating mainly in China, in factory automation and general software business. I find UCAP amazing, powerful and easy to use. Your FAQ section is excellent!

I must say UCAP is such a fantastic solution. I admire it lots in both the UI and backend. My friends are equally excited about UCAP.

UCAP makes personalising your automated eMails easy. Although it's easy to personalise your eMail newsletters - few actually do it. Customers respond more to personalised marketing eMails than to non-personlised eMails.

"Unbelievable!" - I hope this remains freeware for single users. It always seems that awesome software comes along and then it's no longer free. AWESOME!!! Does everything I wanted and more!

"Extraordinary features in a free product!" This will run my entire business. It has everything I need to interface at every "touchpoint". Using Word, Outlook is also a plus (best of breed). I look forward to connecting UCAP to command my phone system.

I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS IS FREEWARE!

Once in a blue moon you come across some mind blowing freeware and this puppy is my 2004 choice of the year! This is exactly what I was looking for and I know a few of you could benefit from it too. It will let you send pre-selected email messages, track sales, customers etc. too much to mention...

Simple configuration but a slightly higher learning curve (in other words, lots of options) Its called Up Close And Personal, from the Up Close And Personal Corporation.

You appear to have approached customer knowledge and management from the correct perspective - the client's perspective. The paradigm of merging persons and companies - very cool.

I am concerned about all web hosted sales tools. They appear great, but are slow and when the web stops - my company stops; period.

The probability of the web crashing becomes higher every day given that that probably 50% of the current Internet traffic carries virus and spam related data. It's not a case of if - but when and I have absolutely no control! Until the web approaches the five-9s reliability of my clients' office networks - I'm staying clear.

What happens to if/when the company stops trading is another worry. Goodbye data!

UCAP

First impressions of UCAP are very good.

What particularly impressed me is the support for "Branches". This is the major difference between UCAP and Legrand CRM. Legrand requires every branch to be entered as a separate "Company". You can associate companies together somewhat but this is very cumbersome.

(Ed: UCAP's capability to have many "Branches" and "Departments" within a company is a basic REAL LIFE necessity. To not support branches would mean that - for one of our clients having one company with over 100 branches and many branches with over 500+ people - that you would have to load all these 1000s of people into just one company or have 1000s of companies of the same name! Good luck quickly finding someone or managing their contact details!)

Until I installed UCAP, Business Performance Management (BPM) was just another Meta Group acronym. Now I understand it. With Crystal Reports and UCAP's performance data - BPM has become my key BackOffice focus.

CRM Industry

The great feature of UCAP's fully integrated feature to Merge persons, companies and addresses is not provided in SalesLogix nor SalesForce.

We expect our clients to avoid creating duplicates before entering data into Sales Logix.

It is possible for Sales Logix and salesForce consultants to write custom code to repair duplicates manually, but duplicate reduction is not a generic feature.

Any data entered via a web interface would not be inspected for duplication.

Computer Hardware Industry

It's hard to compare ACT to UCAP because UCAP does so much more. Perhaps we are not using ACT to it's full potential - it's possible, but we do use an ACT consultant to maintain our system. When you compare our managed ACT system with UCAP straight out of the box - its "chalk" and "cheese":

ACT

UCAP

We are salesmen (about five) in a computer components company with our own clients and every user has his own ACT database. No data is shared. No data is updated to others.

One database is shared to everyone. Account managers are applied to persons /and/or companies. You know which salesman is responsible for the person/company.

All data is shared. All data is updated by all.

Sometimes we have the same company entered many times with multiple names, then to keep them all tied together:

We make notes in each company to tell us which other companies we need to look up. As companies have changed name and get bought, the system has become a total MESS.

Of course, tracking IBM versus International Business .... is out of the question!

UCAP MERGES persons, companies, addresses, connections, notes, product sales, and ALL other information as the real life company and personal data changes.

You can find Hewlett Packard by searching for any of the following ALIASES:

HP

Hewlett Packard

Digital

Compaq

... and 20 more nebulous names that people use when referring to HP.

When we make an order, we hand write our order onto a piece of paper and deliver it to our accounting department

UCAP either interfaces directly with the accounting package to gather products and report sales invoices to be processed, or it will print out an order form

ACT does not install Australian post codes by default

UCAP comes with post/zip code tables (16,000 records) for Australia pre-loaded!

Our ACT does not connect or importing any product lists seamlessly and automatically in the background.

The UCAP import program can import data from any windows database at any interval.

LEGAL INDUSTRY

UCAP is amazing. It's ability to be customised for the Legal industry means will provide for free for what other specialist legal software is currently charging well over $6000 (and that's just for their legal systems - without contact management!).

(Note: John is currently working with UCAP Corporation to customise UCAP for the Legal profession. His ideas are revolutionary. Contact Us if you wish to have UCAP customised for your industry.)

ACCOUNTING

UCAP is the most useable Business Performance & Management program I have ever used.

UCAP has the potential for a manager to organise his/her business better than any other program. It took the dead information I had in Outlook and automatically shared to to the entire office.

The flexibility to manager the business without paper and with constantly updated information is great. The ability to see all linked communications made by my staff with with ALL my accounting clients is brilliant!

I am also a bad typer, and find that UCAP's "Soundex" search lets me find people without even knowing the correct spelling of their name!

UCAP is just as good as what your web site claimed -- "With we believe the best features from ACT, Goldmine, SalesLogix, MS CRM ...".

UCAP has now been running our business for three year now and I would hate to think of what life would be like without it.

UCAP, driving Microsoft Office, accomplishes 99% of all our company's needs - fast. It never crashes, imports data from every source I have had and my requests for improvements are answered with a new (updated) program within a month - and I reckon that I am only using 20% of the program's benefits!

Thank you to all at UCAP Corp - you have saved my business many times over.

Compared to ACT - UCAP has the most wonderful - truly relational CRM structure I have always wanted, whereby any person / company links to many other persons - companies and connections.

I have used and been trained in Sales Logix. I was then introduced by my next employer to UCAP. Without doubt, UCAP was faster, easier to use and provided more Business Benefits to me. I love it.

ACT! isn't all that user friendly for people like me who possess fairly rudimentary IT savvy. The ACT! relationship is a bit rocky with the need to purchase 3x different (expensive and inadequate) software systems in an attempt to be able to synchronise data with my iPAQ. Along the way this also required replacement of my iPAQ for a more powerful unit.

David McAmis
2000

Acts flat (1:1) file architecture is simply too old and outdated to survive in today's real life environment. ACT forces the user to continually waste time in adding and editing unnecessary duplicate data.
